{this moment}

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

June 016

*found…not poached!!! * A whole Robins egg right in the middle of the yard…meters from the nearest tree…”it’s a mystery, Mom!”.

Such care is being taken holding onto the little egg.
And such a beautiful color of egg.
Glad she was so gentle with it --- my own daughter found one last spring and thought it was a leftover Easter egg, she was so excited that when she grabbed it it exploded and she was covered head to toe in yolk -- it was a giant mess and it stains clothing terribly!! She's still traumatized from the event and won't go near bird eggs (even bits of shells) on the ground now. : (

That's seriously funny...! For those of us not having to deal with the traumatized child at least! Poor girl!
I remember being that age and finding an egg at my grandfather's farm... like it was yesterday. I find I draw that moment in my life often when thinking of the fragility of nature, and how we too often forget that aspect... Thank you for sharing your moment :)
Gosh, I love the blue you get on bird's eggs- I have probably used it far too often to decorate the walls of my home, but your lovely pic means I'll probably end up using it again soon!! http://audreysteashop.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-m...
