Snow…I had forgotten!!!

It only happens once a year. It’s much anticipated. It is magical and beautiful. It brings so many joys. The very first snow!!! 105_3835

The first snow and all its wonder came (and went) this week. Oh the marvel of snow!!! I can’t believe all that I forgot!!

I forgot how incredibly still everything is when it snows. How everything is muffled and quiet, how everything seems to slow down and cozy up. How my studio and work shop seem to beg for some burrowing in and getting done!

I forgot just how loudly the snow calls to be played in, walked through, thrown, and rediscovered…oh, and just how loudly the kiddos call for that to happen!!! It’s even louder than the call from the work shop and studio!

I forgot just how long it takes to get the kiddlings buttoned, zipped, mittened, and booted…and just how irresistibly huge they are in all those snow clothes.

I forgot how amazing a big tall Daddy looks pulling a purple sled…especially one full of snow monkeys! 105_3836 105_3840

I forgot how beautiful a sled ride can be!

I forgot all about snow adventuring, playing, and rolling…just because!

Oh, we loved our day of snow. It’s all gone now…and those bizarrely mild days are back. But someday soon the snow will be back. And I will not have forgotten the magic!!

We finished our romp in the snow with little snow treat. It was our first attempt…but it was very much enjoyed!!

Here's to your fantastic and wonderfully enchanted snow day. Great job on the snow cream. We're still waiting for our snow. Maybe saturday.
and the sparkliness. how everything glitters on it!

i actually like when it disappears right away, much better than that muddy slush that is left over!
Oh snow ice cream, I am so excited to try this. We are due to get some snow over the next few days, so this will be a wonderful new treat
looks like fun!
Loved the pictures of Matt tossing the kiddoes in the air!! How high they were!!

PS Don't bother sending the snow our way...
