Homeschool Days

IMG_0309

I’ve blogged about Old Sturbridge Village before in this space.  We spent another glorious day there this week for their “homeschool days”.  The glint of fall in the air, and the laid back, take it as we go, sort of pace was magical.  Does the joy of stepping back to a different time, soaking in the skills and trades, not to mention the patterns, textures, and wardrobes, fill your soul as it does mine?!?!  I just love it.

I love Old Sturbridge Village! We went often when I was a child and my parents had a family membership well beyond all of us being adults since they enjoyed going themselves.
We used to live so close to Old Sturbridge Village, and I wish we had the chance to get there more often! I loved it as a kid, and I bet I would love it as an adult, too.

Stumbled upon your site looking at the pumpkin garland I am going to make with my 5 yr. old daughter this week. It was sweet to see your love for your kids and that you love being with them for learning too. I am homeschooling too and just treasure our time together. I also loved your potpourri of learning styles/teaching philosophies written about in other posts. It's good to see moms and families be confident in teaching their children as well as not necessarily grabbing onto ONE philosophy and feeling like you have just ride one "wagon". I am learning to listen to my heart about my kids and how well I know them and form our own ways along with some great wisdom from other people and philosophies along the way. I bookmarked your page and will be back!!! :-) Thank you!
